Protect Teeth with a Good Diet

nullHaving a healthy diet, aside from flossing and brushing protects tooth decay and will keep the gums very healthy. Tooth decay (dental caries and cavities) and gum disease are often caused by bacteria colonies that will constantly coat the teeth with plaque, which is similar to a sticky film. If the plaque is not immediately brushed away, these bacteria will break down the starches and sugars in our food to produce acids that will wear away the tooth enamel. Over time, the plaque will harden into tartar and can eventually lead to gingivitis or gum inflammation.

A well-balanced diet will provide the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that are essential for healthy gums and teeth.
